How does Dual Yellow Laser Work?
Laser light therapy works on the principle of targeting problem areas based on their light absorption wavelengths. The Dual Yellow laser uses a unique combination of yellow and green lights at wavelengths of 578nm and 511nm.
The yellow light gently destroys acne bacteria in your sebaceous glands then shrinks them to prevent excess sebum production, while it also stimulates collagen regeneration to help keep your skin supple and brightened.
The green light in Dual Yellow targets mainly the skin pigment melanin to improve the appearance of pigmented lesions like freckles, age spots or skin discolouration like melasma.

Treatment normally lasts for 15-20 minutes. Unlike most other laser treatments which create micro-wounds on your skin surface, Dual Yellow Laser reaches your deep dermis layer to target your skin concerns without wounding your skin. This translates to a much more comfortable procedure for you, without needing any numbing cream. For patients with sensitive skin, there may be some redness post treatment but nothing to stop you from continuing with your daily activities.

What is the treatment process?
Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed and make up removed before laser-protective goggles are placed over your eyes.
A layer of cooling gel is applied before the yellow and green laser beams are directed at the affected areas of your skin.
Will it be painful?
During treatment, you may feel a tingling or prickling sensation, but generally it is very well tolerated amongst patients even without numbing cream. This includes even those who have very low pain thresholds. Topical anaesthesia could be used for patients who request it.
Is this safe and are there side effects?
Dual Yellow Laser is very safe as it is non-invasive and does not wound your skin surface. Your skin will be brightened right after treatment and only some patients with sensitive skin will experience mild redness or swelling. Most of these will resolve within a few hours of treatment.
How fast will I see the results?
Improvements to your skin tone and texture will be gradual and become more visible after each treatment. Expect clear and healthy-looking skin. For best results depending on your skin condition, 3-4 treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart are recommended.
Do I need to prepare before the treatment?
Before the treatment, avoid sun exposure for at least two weeks prior to treatment. Also avoid the use of Retin A and other irritating skin products for three days prior to .
How should I maintain my skin post treatment?
Following laser treatment, it is important to adhere to strict skin care and routine sunblock. Our patients are routinely recommended to consume sublingual glutathione (an anti-oxidant) to continue to inhibit melanin production. Glutathione inhibits melanin production by inhibiting tyrosinase enzyme found in melanocytes.
